Dobri Dimitrov Dobrev was born 20 July 1914 in the village of Bailovo. His father died in World War I and his mother had to raise their children by herself. Dobrev does not remember his youth and school years. He decided to marry around 1940, which is around when Bulgaria joined World War II. All the collected money is donated to charities, orphanages, churches and monasteries. He lives on approximately 90 euros that he receives as pension money. In total, he has managed to raise and donate 40.000 euros. He is much liked by the people and is called "Grandpa Dobri". The wonderful example he gives with his asceticism has led many to call his The Saint of Bailovo...
